Road to part close for 5 days
The A4440 Swinesherd Way, Whittington will be closed to traffic for up to five days in the middle of November for bridge development construction works.
It will mean that no vehicles will be able to travel on the highway from its junction with the A44 Spetchley Road for the five days from Thursday, November 14.
There will be two alternative diversion routes.
Diversion one will be: A4440: Nunnery Way, Grange Way, Trotshill Way, Parsonage Way, Warndon Way, A449: Worcester Northern Link, Ombersley Road, A38: Barbourne Road, Upper Tything, The Tything, St Mary’s Street, Sansome Walk, Sansome Place, Sansome Street, City Walls Road, A44: Sidbury, London Road, Sidbury, London Road and A4440 Whittington Road.
Diversion two: A44: Whittington Road, London Road, Sidbury, A38: City Walls Road, St Nicholas Street, Foregate Street, The Tything, Upper Tything, Barbourne Road, A449: Ombersley Road and Worcester Northern Link.
Pedestrians will still have access to premises situated on or next to the highway or to other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only from the highway.
