Deadline looming for candidates for St Peter's Worcester City Council seat election

Potential candidates for the St Peter’s ward seat in May’s Worcester City Council local elections have until 4pm on Wednesday, April 3 to submit their nomination papers.

Forms of nomination can be obtained from the Guildhall in Worcester’s High Street, from the Returning Officer.

Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 11.59pm on Friday, April 12.

The election takes place on Thursday, May 2.

The St Peter’s seat is currently held by Conservative Roger Knight, who is retiring after 15 years and four terms.

It is one of 11 Worcester City Council seats being contested across the city, around a third of the council’s 35 seats.

Anyone seeking election to St Peter’s Parish Council can get a Form of Nomination from the Returning Officer at the Guildhall. They must also be submitted by 4pm on Wednesday, April 3.

If an election is required in St Peter’s parish it will also take place on Thursday, May 2.
